1920′s – animated films of Oscar Fischinger were supplied by orchestral background., also made short animated films to advertise Electrola Record’s new releases which people considers as the first music videos.

1929 – Russian Director Dziga Vertov, made a 40 minutes film called Man with the Movie camera. It is actually filming real, live events, backed by an orchestra as its music and it has no dialogue.

1936 – Actor Paul Robeson made a classic rendition of Ol’ Man River, he acts in accordance with the songs lyrics.

1956 – Petrushka aired as a segment of the Sol Hurok Music Hour on NBC

1957 – Tony Bennett filmed “The Serpentine” in Hyde Park, London as his song “Stranger in Paradise” airs in the background.

1959 – Disk-Jockey/Singer J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson was the first to coin the phrase “music video” according to Internet Accuracy project.
