Seems like the divide between the many music studios and digital music sales and other ventures can;t get together and make music together, Warner is in a stalemate with MTV again for rights management and of course profits. The Rockband Game from MTV contains tracks from Warner Music and they say they have halted issuing licenses to users of the game online due to some internal discussions as to the amount of royalty their artists are going to get and of course their own. As more and more studios are getting sideswiped by the digital music scene may it be games, online sales and the many more issues such as piracy they are getting a bit more sensitive to the issues they tended to shrug off as trivial in days of past.
The divide between major record companies and the many other companies who vie for their music or the music of artists under their wings is growing with more and more artists deciding to go their own ways as independents, working for their own publicity and taking more cash out of the pockets of the major studios. More and more are becoming independents as they try to get by the many restrictions that are imposed on them by record companies that are embodied on their extensive contracts.
